An activity in which the students will find figurative language within songs from several different genres.
There are 27 record album task cards with snippets of songs on each. The cards will cover alliteration, hyperbole, metaphor, personification and simile. The activity will require the students to place the task cards under the correct figurative language name card. They will record their answers on a chart as well as explain what some of the different cards mean. I have also included a self-penned song (don’t laugh too hard) in which the students will fill in a chart with the different examples of figurative language they find in the song.
