The following slides can be flashed through your computer on a projector, or can be printed out as large flashcards for the entire class. These are a great way for students to develop number sense and also help understand how to use 5 and 10 as a reference to build other numbers. These are great for adding 1 facts, doubles, doubles + 1, and many more facts.
I also print multiple sheets per page to make flashcards that individual students can use for practice or to play Top It and Concentration.
These flashes are combinations to 10 on a single ten frame. If you like these, I also have double ten frame flashes. To create these, I had to make a 10 frame and then individually paste each "chip" into the correct box. Let me save you some time- these were invaluable to me last year and I will use them for years to come! I even shared these with the Purdue University Calumet Inquiry Math instructor- great resource!
Flash each slide for 3 to 5 seconds, then click to the next blank slide. Ask students to share what number they saw and how they grouped this in their mind.
