Included in this packet you will find:
1 title page, 1 page with credits to clipart, common core state standards, and my reason for making the game, 1 memory game with 5 pages of reproducible cards, 1 review sheet for this game, 1 pocket chart game with 9 reproducible pages, 1 write it or stamp it plural or singular activity sheet, and 1 sheet that works on writing sentences using singular and plural words.
This game was created to give beginning readers and writers awareness to word endings as well as practice on recognizing singular and plural words. In my 13 years of teaching kindergarten, I find when speaking, writing, and reading, my students rarely use plural words. It is one of the most frequent daily mistakes made by my students. My goal in making this activity set was to bring more awareness to this simple skill and to extinguish some of the simple mistakes many of my students are making. I have used this activity set for 2 years now, and it is one they feel confident using. They like to choose it over and over again. Once I used this activity, I found I didn’t have to correct my students as often on adding and s to represent plural words. You will notice that all of the word cards that have a blend within the word, the print is red. I tried to make this decoding skill stick out to my students as most are beginning readers and writers.
