Students can practice basic sentence structure after they have learned the Spanish vocabulary for colors and the animals. I used the same animals found in Angelica Sandoval's Cut and Paste Animals: Las Mascotas.
You may need to discuss "es" versus "son" first and then have them check for plural and gender agreement on the colors depending on age and level.
You will need a color printer for this or will need to project on the wall so students can see which color the animals are. Some have more than one color.
The example is in Spanish, but instructions are in English, so this could be adapted for ELD or other languages as well.
