This lesson bundle includes all the documents you need to implement a student-centered six essential nutrients lesson.
Students begin with a basic introduction to the six nutrients with a read -aloud of the Book Good Enough to Eat by Lizzy Rockwell (you will need to purchase this book; there are also video versions on YouTube for free). Then, students complete a jigsaw activity, researching one of the six nutrients then teaching the information to their group members as a "nutrient expert." The group will then come together to create a project using the iPad; there are 3 choices: creating an animated dialogue using Plotogram, an interactive presentation using Explain Everything, or a recipe all six nutrients on PicCollage and Recipal.com. Students will learn the six nutrients in a fun, student-centered, and interactive way, while developing essential cooperative learning skills.
