This packet begins with a truly fun review of nouns, plural nouns, adjectives and verbs. (Some examples use "The Simpsons" but knowledge of the cartoon isn't needed.) The parts of speech review is appropriate for grades 3, 4 and 5. Then you get six sets of clever Mad Libs-style stories. Each has two versions so the work can be completed alone or with more than one person. Each has 15 to 20 word blanks. Some page titles are "How to Catch a Leprechaun," "Tips for New Dog Owners" and "Goldilocks and the Three [Plural Noun]. For the do-it-yourself pages, story titles are omitted deliberately for suspense! A bonus group of pages is included after #6, extending the dog activity to include additional language arts practice. Great for one-on-one, pairs or a whole class.
