This series consists of short fictional stories about each of Henry VIII's wives. Each story is about 1 page long, and is followed by 5-6 reading comprehension questions. Whether you purchase specific parts separately or decide to do them as a set, you can't go wrong with these stories. They will engage your readers as we have seen time and again both in our tutoring sessions, and some of our tutors have used these in their classrooms.
These stories can also give you a chance to engage in a cross curricular social studies/history lesson. They are great starting points for discussion about life in the past, and women's roles historically speaking.
This set includes the stories of all six of Henry's wives. Katherine the Good, Anne the Bold, Jane the Beauty, Anna the Daring, Kitty the Naive, and Catherine the Writer.
There is also a bonus Tic Tac Toe Cooperative Learning Project Activity that works well in classrooms, for home school groups, and can even be adapted for individual tutoring students.
We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
