This is a culminating activity for Six Trait Writing instruction. Spending about 30min a day for six days, I read a different picture book that highlights one of the traits. The books I use are listed in the assignment. Then, based on ideas from the Writing Fix website, I have the students do some planning for six different written pieces. After they've "tried on" each piece, they pick one and develop a formal written paper, using the full writing process. Create your own brainstorming pages or consult the Writing Fix website.
