The NEW Indiana Academic Standards for Math are here and ready to be implemented in the fall of 2014! I am working around the clock to create new tools and resources designed specifically to support Indiana educators as we make this critical transition.
This exciting WEEKLY WORD PROBLEMS resource comes WITH a SIMPLIFIED version of the NEW INDIANA MATH STANDARDS. Problems are written in multi- step, ISTEP format and designed to be used once a week. Spending just 15 minutes a week on problem solving and what it means to “show your work” gives students the knowledge and confidence to improve test scores on Applied Skills Math Problem Solving.
If you already have a Simple 6 Math book that was aligned with the Common Core Standards, here is the chance to get your revised Chapter 1 (Standards) and Chapter 4 (36 Problems) without having to purchase the whole book again. Chapter 2 (Mastering Basic Facts) and Chapter 3 (Simple 6 Problem Solving Strategies) remained the same.
What you get:
Weekly Word Problems for Sixth Grade Indiana Students
Letter to Colleagues
One-page Indiana Standards Overview
Standards by Strand: Simplified and Categorized—with space for making notes!
Process Standards: paraphrased in language for elementary students!
Matching Standards to Problems List
Numeric List of Problems with Main Skill Identified
36 Problems and Answer Keys
(Answer keys model exemplary ISTEP response and are multi-step.)
What if you’re not an ISTEP grade? Beginning in Kindergarten (with problems to “act out”) students learn by scaffolding. Each grade level builds on the next-- adding another step, expecting more organization, modeling the exemplary response—so that students are ready for ISTEP in GR 3.
If you don’t have a Simple 6 Math book and you want it all, no problem!!! It is available as a digital download in my TpT store:
