Print the templates that match your assessments and sketchbook requirements. I pick only the templates I need for each year or semester, depending on my lesson plans, and print them on legal size paper. Some pages are designed for writing tasks only, some for writing and drawing, and others for drawing alone. I usually cut one sheet of construction paper the same size as legal paper for the cover and put a rubber band around the spine to hold it together. They are so easy to make and can be customized for any sort of classroom or grade level. The pages even line up so you can print them 2-sided if you like. I use the square at the top of the page for the date, so I know when students wrote on that particular page and can track their progress on writing or drawing goals.
