If using Reading Street then use pages 2/3 back to back. If using another reading series, use pages 4/5 back to back. Once all of the words are written and sketched, have students write a sentence using one of the words. This is a great activity for visual learners and can be used at any grade level. Can be used during reading centers, Daily 5, and many subject areas. This is not limited to reading, you could use this for math, science, and social studies daily activities! When students have to write the word, listen to the definition then apply the definition to make a sketch it provides multiple repetitions with the vocabulary words.
