The skills tracking sheet is a simple and easy to use way to track your students’ understanding of concepts learned or skills gained. As teachers, we know that there are many different ways that students are able to demonstrate their learning. Not all evidence of learning ends up on a paper that can be assessed at a later time. For example, in my math class students often demonstrate their learning using manipulatives and mini white boards. I use the skills tracking sheet to keep track of skills that my students have been able to demonstrate. I simply write in my student’s names on the tracking sheet and make several copies. I always have a few tracking sheets ready to go on a clipboard that I can easily grab and record the learning that I am observing. I have included an example of how I use the tracking sheet in my classroom.
