Have students look at the word in bold in the left column. Then they skim across the words in that row and circle the same word which will appear once or twice. After this, the students move to the next row.
DO NOT compare students with one another.
This exercise, when done over a series of days and combined with Skim and Scan activities, will help develop the student's ability to pick out specific words in a text.
