I use the skip counting assessment once a month throughout the year until a student has it mastered. Giving the students the skip counting assessment once a month allows me to put students into small groups in math for quick skip counting lessons.
Students who pass the skip counting test, I give them a skip counting test from 1,000 up to 10,000.
Students track their progress in their Leadership Data Notebooks. They set goals periodically throughout the school year in each academic subject. Once they have mastered their goal, they write a new goal.
The understanding of Place Value is a must before students can understand skip counting.
See my Place Value Assessment that I give students twice a month.
I use this test as a pre and post test. I give it to the students before I start the unit, to help me with my small groups and direct instruction. I use the recording sheet to record my pre and post test scores for each student. If a student does not understand the question, I put a circle in the recording box. If they do understand, I put a check mark in the box. Those students who have not mastered a common core benchmark, I will reteach again at a later time.
I always place the Common Core standards at the top of each of my assessments. I grade each standard separately and place the score on the line next to the standard.

Tests And Other Documents
Some resources are found as either Microsoft Word Documents and/or PDF’s. Due to the complexity of the assessment, not everything can be created on Power Point. Please download all resources to see which documents you would like to use.
