This product contains 4 ways to practice skip counting! The games can be used as math centers or as part of whole group instruction. Each game can be played with counting by 2s, 5s, 10s, 100s, or a mix of these.
The games include:
1. Skip Counting Zoo Line Up
Students have mixed up animal cards with numbers on them. They put the cards in order showing how they would skip count. To add an extra challenge, students can try to beat a timer or can race each other to put their cards in order.
2. Skip Counting Zoo Fix Up
Students use the cards from the Zoo Line Up game. Partners work first to put the cards in order. They then take turns making a change to the cards while their partner's back is turned. They could remove a card, flip a card over, or switch two cards. The partner whose back was turned then tries to find and fix the mistake their partner made. Students then switch roles.
3. Skip Counting Forest 4 in a Row
Students place their game cards face down. On each card, a skip counting sequence is started but has the last two numbers blank. The student will continue the skip counting pattern by saying the next two numbers out loud. (The answers are printed on the cards for self-checking). If the student was correct, he or she will use a counter to cover the picture on the game board that matches the picture on their card. The first player to get four counters in a row is the winner!
4. Skip Counting Forest Puzzles
Students will put puzzle strips in order using the numbers on the bottom to skip count. When the strips are correctly placed, students will see a picture of a forest scene. This allows students to self-check their order.
