How to play:
Choose your spinners/dice depending on the level of your student. This can be a great game to introduce multiplication & skip counting or it can help to reinforce it.
Students countdown and either spin or roll a dice (or pair of dice) on the count of 3. They write this number on the bottom of their race card and that is the number they add to move forward in the race. *Have them leave the dice/spinners alone once they have their number so that they can show their partner they “raced” the correct number.
The first to get to the finish line wins the round IF they counted correctly. If they didn’t add correctly, their partner gets a point (or they can call it a tie).
Students can record their rolls/scores each round. An example is included. Both students record each round and cross out the losing score to find total rounds/points won.
If using dice, start with 1, then add a 2nd. My students like playing with dice: the twist is that if you roll a 1 or 10, you have to roll again, giving your partner a head start!
