Skip counting is a great precursor to addition and subtraction. Skip counting teaches number patterns and assists with the development of number sense. We skip count by tens every day in my classroom using the 120 chart, but we don’t always start with ten! (Ex: 6, 16, 26, 36, 46, 56, 66, 67, 86, 96, 106, 116!) I created these center activities to give my students practice skip counting by tens. Since introducing these centers, my students have developed an increased familiarity with number patterns and can mentally add and subtract multiples of ten! Check out these fun and engaging centers!
