Students receive a fun size bag of Skittles and determine the fraction, decimal and percent equivalents of each color. (You can also buy the big bag of Skittles at Target and then just use a tablespoon to scoop out Skittles onto their papers.) I have them draw the number of Skittles they have with a black marker or colored pencil, and then color them in with the same number of each colored Skittle they have in their bags. This way they can see the part to total of fractions. They are colorful to hang in the hall, and provide students with a real-world example!
