This is a fun, engaging experiment to introduce students to the the scientific method, or to practice reading and following instructional texts. All you need is Skittles, a small bowl and water!
There are two different experiments--do one or both depending on your students' needs and abilities!
Experiment 1: Students place Skittles in a small bowl and record their observations in pictures (one picture at beginning, one after 5 minutes).
Experiment 2: Students learn the word "dissolve" and conduct the same experiment in two different bowls, one with hot water and one with cold water, to see which temperature dissolves the Skittles faster.
