Skittles Math includes various activities that you can do with skittles as an enrichment or review activity. Activities include Computation with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This activity also includes a fraction component as well as a Science extension activity. There is a template included in which you can do a Science experiment by testing the question, Which color of Skittles are there more of in bags of Skittles. We predicted yellow just by looking at our zip-lock baggies maybe you would predict some other color based on your experience. It was very interested in looking at our data as the students worked on sorting, counting and recording their data. You can buy individual bags of skittles for your students. have them bring their own or you can do as I did and buy a large bag and then use a scoop to scoop each student an amount of skittles in a baggie. We also looked at how we had several students with a different amount of skittles even though we used the same scoop and leveled the scoop off the same way each time. The possibilities are endless. A great activity to have for a sub!
