Product Description
This activity for a speech, langauge arts, or other humanities class requires students to research the history and use of a slang word or phrase that is appropiate for school. Students explore etymology while researching something of interest to them. Together with the student, the teacher will select one of the two written speeches to be delivered to the class. The assignment can be modified. The tecaher can assign words to the students from a particular time period or field of study. For example, words or phrases that come from Shakespeare or the colonial American period.
