This product is about slave auctions.
It contains:

Background Information sheet about slave auctions
A wide collection of slave auction posters for analysis.

Students watch a short video about slave auctions, analyse posters, read the information sheet and then complete two tasks:
1. Create an authentic slave auction poster based on criteria provided.
2. Write a diary entry from a slave's perspective about slave auctions.
Students are given a list of 10 slaves to choose from to represent.

Everything is ready to print and GO.
Students really enjoy creating authentic looking posters and fully immerse themselves in this task.
Students practice note taking skills and visual analysis. They gain historical knowledge about the experiences of slaves in America and gain empathy for their ordeals by putting themselves in the position of a slave.
