This "Brutality of Slavery" Activity includes:
1) A document-based "GALLERY WALK" activity that creates a unique opportunity for your students to engage with REAL, HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS and investigate
the realities of slavery. Your students will love walking around your classroom "art
gallery" and analyzing the 8 different documents and multi media resources
provided, discussing them with their peers, and developing conclusions about the
system of slavery, the lives of slaves, and how the system of slavery divided the
American people and the United States.
2) Station 8 of the "Gallery Walk" is a video clip entitled "All Night Forever", which is
from Ken Burns' award-winning documentary "The Civil War". The video clip is
