After talking to my students about the importance of getting proper sleep every night, I challenged them to see how much sleep they could get in a 5 day period.
With the help of their parents, students record the time they go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. They also add the total amount of hours they have slept (great math exercise as well!)
After the 5 day challenge, students use the Sleep Challenge Worksheet to reflect on how their bodies felt during the challenge. Did they get enough sleep? How do they know? This is a great activity to bring awareness concerning the effects of sleep on our bodies!
