Sliders is a 2-player game to practice expanded notation. Game cards require students to write the expanded form of a given number or to write the standard number of one given in its expanded form. As students work to solve these game cards they use the Sliders game board to "flick" or "slide" a counter to touch numbered boxes that exist throughout. The first player to "flick" or "slide" his counter to all numbers wins the game! This activity meets or exceeds the Common Core Standards of Mathematics and practices the skill of expanded notation as written in the Common Core. Sliders makes for a great class game or standards-based learning center. Game board, game cards, and answer key included!
