PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

For several years now, I have used a song from youtube done by "The Electric Company" that is called "Silent E is a Ninja". My kiddos just LOVE it, so I decided to create a Ninja e unit with a Ninja theme to teach the silent e sound and go along with the song that they beg to hear again and again!

This unit concentrates on the long vowel sound spelled with silent (or Ninja) e. I have included a huge variety of words and activities to practice this concept, as well as a huge variety of activities!

In this unit you will find:

-2 different “Write the Room” activities with student response sheets -clip cards (pic to correct spelling) and response sheet for a center activity
-8 different roll and cover games with coordinating dice and
-2 different “Scoot” games and response sheets
-Mixed up sentences containing Ninja e words and response sheet
-Roll, Say, Keep game mats with 2 different word cards (one with just words and one with words and pic clue for differentiation/scaffolding) and a response sheet
- word work/word building cards and coordinating mats- children look at the picture, spell the word then check the card to see if they got the spelling correct(self checking). Then, they write the word, using a dry erase marker
-60 break apart/puzzle word to picture cards with response sheet
-2 different “I Have Who Has” games
-8 different Ninja e words tic, tac, toe boards
-“Find the Ninja Star!!” Pocket Chart word to pic matching activity and student response sheet
- Tiny Word Find cards-Students use a magnifying glass to find the teeny tiny “Ninja e” words hidden in the picture on the card and a student response sheet
-Roll and read sheets and response sheet
-flash cards with “Ninja e” words for pre-assessment, assessment, drill and practice, word walls, etc.
-“The Ninja E Game”- Ninja stars with “e” that you put on a “wand” (straw or popsicle stick) and the children use the wand to supply the “e” to the words as they read. This is a great warm up for guided reading. I have also included directions for using it as a 3rd “Write the Room” activity or center. I have also included a student response sheet.
-Round Robin (Kagan Structure) “Ninja Round Robin!” reading Ninja e words group game (And instructions on how to use/do this structure with your class with this game in case you are unfamiliar with it! Game is great for small groups to use at the same time and you can do a quick check for mastery! Or use in a center or small guided reading group. I have included 2 types of cards (with and without pic prompts) for differentiation/scaffolding.
-Sorting words by vowel sound pocket chart activity with 2 different types of cards: one set with just pictures (making it more of a phonemic awareness activity) ; a second set with the word and the picture for he children to read and sort. I have also included a response sheet so that you can also use it in a center.

I have also included 31 different worksheets/printables that include: word building, word to pic matching, writing words with “silent e”, read and draw, spin to win, flip books, mixed up sentences and writing prompts with “silent e” words.
So many fun ways to teach and practice the “silent e” spelling pattern of the long vowel sounds! Your kids will be learning and having fun! Win-win! 
