Are you looking for an activity to work with students on the ability to break words down into individual sounds? Phoneme segmentation can be taught using a mini-Slinky, which can be found in the dollar section at Target or I have also included a link to a website where you can buy them cheaply. Have students say the word in the first column. Then stretch the Slinky a small amount each time you say the separate sounds you hear in the word. Finally, push the Slinky back together again as you say the whole word again.
If you place the pages in sheet protectors, students can use dry erase markers to trace the letters to spell the words in the last column. Put the pages front to back in the sheet protector so that each student has two pages to work on at a time.
This file includes CVC words with the vowel E!
