Slope - This resource includes three sets of task cards (44 task cards total) to help students practice how to find the slope of a line when two points (ordered pairs) are given, from table of values, and from a graph. This activity includes problems with different levels of difficulty which is perfect for differentiation and a great tool to challenge your Algebra students.
The first set contains 16 task cards where students will find or calculate the slope of a line when two points are given. This is a great opportunity for them to practice how to use the Slope Formula.
The second set contains 16 task cards where students will find the slope of a line represented in table of values. They will practice the concept of slope as the ratio of the change in y and change in x.
The last set contains 12 task cards where students will find the slope of a line on a graph. They will apply the "rise over run" procedure to easily calculate the slope.
Engage students by using these task cards in various ways such as in math stations and/or math centers, for whole class discussion/review, meaningful homework, and for daily warm ups.
I also created two versions of recording sheets for you. You may choose the version that works best for your students depending on the amount of space they need to show their solutions.
*Version 1 – use this if you would like your students to simply record their answers on a single page. You may ask them to show their solutions on separate sheets of paper.
*Version 2 – use this if you would like your students to show detailed solutions on how they arrived at their answers.
Answer keys are also provided!
