Oh no! Your student have been captured by terrifying monsters and taken to Monster Island, a deserted island. The only way to survive is if they save themselves. They will need to determine the slope of tables, ordered pairs, equations, and graphs in order to find the tools they need to escape.
I know that escape rooms can be expensive to create for the classroom, but not this one. You will only need letter size envelopes (30-40) and 4 acrylic frames (I found suitable ones at a dollar store). I even include prizes so you don't need to purchase those either.
Students will practice the following:
*Determine the slope given a table.
*Determine the slope given an equation.
*Determine the slope given ordered pairs.
*Determine the slope given a graph.
*Determine slopes that are 0 or undefined.
Included in this purchase:
Envelope covers for each envelope.
3 hint cards for each group.
Instruction cards for each puzzle.
3 'doors' the students will need to unlock.
1 optional door the students may unlock to earn extra time. These problems are more challenging.
Higher level students: I allow my higher level students 40 minutes to complete the escape room.
Lower level students: I allow my lower level students 80 minutes (a block class or 2 traditional classes) to complete the escape room.
**Please note that there is a lot of prep in getting this escape room ready for the classroom. You will need to cut out the materials and I strongly suggest laminating them so you can use them year to year.
