Product Description
This homework page is designed for 7th grade accelerated students. It bridges the 7th grade common core standards about graphs of proportional relationships (y=kx) to the 8th grade common core standards about graphs of linear functions in general (y=mx). Students will explore the similarities of y = kx and y = mx so that in subsequent lessons they can learn about non-proportional linear functions (y=mx+b).

Students will look at an equation in the form y=kx, state the constant of proportionality and then sketch a graph of the function. In the next section, students are given a graph and they must write the equation of the line (y = kx). Lastly, students will be given a real-life proportional scenerio where they must complete a table, write a function and graph it.
