Learning slope is one of the bigger concepts to take away in middle school. This activity allows students to practice identifying slope and y-intercept from slope intercept form. Then they will graph the linear equation using slope intercept form. Graphs include positive, negative, zero and undefined slopes. A fun add is to solve the secret word at the end.

*12 Problem Student Worksheet (Can be printed on two pages, back to back) with secret blank word scramble.

Graph proportional relationships, interpreting the unit rate as the slope of the graph. Compare two different proportional relationships represented in different ways. For example, compare a distance-time graph to a distance-time equation to determine which of two moving objects has greater speed.
