I used this activity to assist my students with disabilities in an inclusion algebra 1 classroom to help them understand the function of y=mx+b, problem solve real life situations, compare/contrast/analysis, work with a partner, and self discover. There are different levels to each word problem given so you can use it for higher skills and lower skills depending on what you need. Also, I have given you the word document so you can alter or change to what you need. I like to use student's names into the word problems. They get a kick out of it and makes it more realistic. I don't have the answers loaded but I can assist you if you need it through an email.
9 scenarios: one page per group to work through the problem and then compare/contrast/analysis the two different vocabulary content terms/formats. y=mx+b and ax + by = c
I used the one keyword number to text reference sheet to assist with the word problems and turning them into equations.
