This activity is designed for students to complete after learning about graphing linear equations. The activity gives students a real-life perspective on systems of equations by using hands-on experiments. Students will receive three different spyglasses. They will look through each one at a number line (included in file) on the wall from various distances. This activity guides them through defining variables, writing equations, and making real-world connections. This activity has been designed as part of my International Baccalaureate unit on graphing linear equations.
Students will use:
This is an awesome way to give students some hands-on experience with graphing linear equations!
