Do your students struggle with slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines?
Yeah, mine too! Which is exactly why I designed this assignment that reinforces finding slope from a variety of forms while offering practice with parallel and perpendicular slopes.
The activity is divided into 5 parts:
1 - Complete a table by filling in slopes that are parallel and perpendicular to a given slope (18 problems)
2 - Find the slope from two points (5 problems), a table (5 problems), a graph (5 problems) and a situation (5 problems)
3 - Identify slope from an equation and match to parallel or perpendicular slopes (10 problems)
4 - Write the equation of a line in slope intercept form given the intercept and information about the slope (4 problems)
5 - Create two parallel lines and two perpendicular lines and justify their relationship (6 problems)
