Have nonreaders that nothing seems to motivate? Color the Sounds uses motion and color to create a fun, multisensory activity that subtly engages the working memory, while providing learning experiences that allow struggling readers to achieve a degree of success. Color markers are used instead of pencils. Target words are traced, and passages are read in an interactive way. A scaffolded support process allows even the most reluctant readers to participate in an active way. Nothing is more motivational than even a little success.
The download gives you blackline masters for 5 student booklets/passages (I don’t like to call them workbooks because most of the activities are guided practice). Running record passages, and teacher’s guide are included. Answer key is not included as it is not really necessary.
A sample, with instructions, is provided in the preview.
