My Small Groups Annolighting an Informational Text SMART file lesson has everything you'll need to teach your students this wonderful reading comprehension strategy. All the WWI texts, organizers, and rubrics you'll need for the activity are attached to the SMART file lesson.
I've found this activity to be one of my students' favorites. They work in small groups, which they like to do. They all stay engaged and busy throughout the activity, which I like for them to do. Most importantly they learn!
In fact, I use the annolighting strategy quite a bit in my class. So it's not surprising that my students have gotten where they annolight most texts they read now; non-fiction and fiction. They just know to have a pencil and a highlighter handy for whenever it's time to read.
