This is almost everything you need for make shape small groups and their corresponding floor pieces. All you need to have is different colored card stock including white ( for best results ). Construction paper can be used.
The groups include 6 of each of the following shapes: Triangle, Rectangle, Square, and Diamond. There is also a paper with a set of 1-5 ordinal numbers cupcakes. There are 6 shapes of each so that 5 of them go on the floor and one on a chart in front of the classroom. The one for the chart up front does not need a cupcakes piece.
Each shape needs to be a different color and the last page with the cupcakes needs to printed on white card stock. Cut each small cupcake set out and glue/tape to the shapes.
The sheet of cupcakes with ordinal number 1-5 to put on the pieces on the shapes. This can be used with sending the students to small groups example ( Johnny is first, Bob is second, Sally is Third, Betty is Forth, and Tom is fifth. I have done this before and moved their name on the chart daily.
This helps with students running to always to be first and it helps them learn ordinal numbers. My class rotates through all 4 groups daily and that is why they need floor pieces. It gives them some where to go while I quickly reset groups and makes sure everyone cleans up before moving to the next small group.
For best result tape to floor with clear contact paper.
