Print and go! The game boards come in color or black and white as well as the wh? cards.
My students really enjoy it when I use my wax warmer to make the room smell yummy. So, I thought, how can I turn something that they enjoy into a language activity? Well, I created my Smelly Speech Unit!
First, I have them close their eyes and think about what they see inside their minds when they enter my room and smell the scent of the day. Then, I pass out my smelly activity sheet. We draw what we saw in our minds and then write a story or sentence about it depending on their skill level.
Please NOTE: I do NOT sell any warmers or wax scents/just sharing how I use mine in therapy.
There are so many scents to choose from! I have noticed that my kids really enjoy food scents. I like to show a group of the day all of the scents and let them choose the “scent of the day”! Keep track of how many of your students like the scent of the day on the “Daily Smell-o-meter and then use the “Weekly Smell-o-meter” bar graph to show the students which scent was the most popular for the week. Yay! You just threw in some math and science!
