I use this 1/2 page smiley face sheet as a way to track each student's behavior daily. For students in special education with IEP goals based on behavior, I change the categories to help with tracking (which is quick and simple!). For example, I had a student with a goal of raising their hand and waiting to be called on. On their smiley face sheet, I changed a category to "Raise Hand." That way, I would be able to easily track their progress in that domain. This sheet is very student-friendly. Each day, I typically conference with the students on this plan and have them circle the faces as we discuss the day together. I find it to be reflective for the students and also a good opportunity for the parents to know how their child is doing in school.
For students that have a harder time making it through the school day, I have the smiley faces earn them rewards (1 face=2 min on computer, etc.).
