This nautical themed smartboard lesson provides a fun way for students to practice using the correct homonym in a sentence. But it's more than that! It is designed to be a game like Connect 4. If the student (or team) answers the question correctly, they will click an icon that takes them to the gameboard. They can then place their checker on the grid, and the first player or team to get 4 in a row wins. There are a total of 20 questions using homonyms. All slides are self checking with the answers and they are all linked for very easy use. Great for whole class or in a center or station. Created with Smart Notebook 14. Appropriate for grades 3-6 depending on the level of the students. Homonyms include: sighed and side; crews and cruise; bread and bred; weather and whether; peace and piece; raise and rays; flu, flue, and flew; weigh, way, and whey; doe and dough; groan and grown.... just to name a few.
