Need to include standards on using literature, reading rhythms, solfege, cross-curricular, and creativity for your primary grades? Look no further! This Snail based activity launches from the book Snail Trail: In Search of a Modern Masterpiece by Jo Saxton. The activity utilizes the favorite so-la-mi song Snail Snail and speech pieces to teach ta and ti-ti, so-la-mi, iconic notation, movement with pathways, and form. Kodaly and Orff approaches utilized. The packet includes optional plans if you do not have the book, printable note cards to create speech pieces, and an optional Google slide for students if you don't want to use the cards.
