This is a hands on activity for students to practice the concept of supply and demand.
You give each student a container of play dough and they will need an unsharpened pencil. For the snakes to count, they have to be the length of the pencil. Donuts are the snakes made into a circle. I set the timer to less and less time each round. Student have to make as many snakes and/donuts as they can. The idea being that while the donuts are worth more, they take more time to make so it is a output vs. quality decision. Also, you can take certain amounts of points away if snakes or donuts are too sloppy (ex. dissatisfied customer). You can also throw in supply and demand and have them try to meet a certain need for an amount.
