This call number review game is designed as a time filler or center activity for when students have completed their other library media center work! Based on the popular Snap card game, this activity is easy to implement and inexpensive to make. It allows students to work cooperatively to practice the identification of call numbers in a fast-paced, fun method. It is simple enough that even your youngest students will catch on quickly and have fun! The game can also be easily modified to review other library media skills. At the end of this packet is a sheet of blank cards that you may use to make your own Snap game. You might paste copies of award-winning book covers onto the cards to review literary awards, authors’ names, or more call numbers used in your library media center. There are also game cards at the end of the packet for media centers that use F as the designation for fiction so that they can replace game cards that say FIC.
This packet is 13 pages long and includes the following:
-10 pages of game cards
-1 page of blank game cards
