Snap cubes are a great tool for exploring patterning and allowing students to make their own patterns. All you need are some snap cubes, coloured cubes or even Lego pieces to follow the patterns provided.
This package contains three different types of pattern activities for your students to complete. Your students will be able to practice the skills of:
-Copying a pattern
-Copying and extending a pattern
-Creating their own pattern

There are 8 samples of each type of pattern for copying a pattern and extending the pattern. That is a total of 32 patterns available for copying and 32 patterns available for copying and extending.
How to Use:
You can use the pattern cards in this resource to create centers for your students or as a focus for small group or one-on-one instruction. Simply print the pattern cards on cardstock and put into page protectors or print on cardstock, cut into strips and laminate for durability.
Extending the Activities:
To extend the activities provided, demonstrate how to circle the core of the pattern (the section that repeats) or have the students write the pattern rule under the cubes on the sheet.
