Product Description
SNAP, CRACKLE, and PLOT your class with this Snapchat Plot Builder that helps students construct super Snapchats using elements of plot as building blocks.

This activity is designed to help students understand the functions of the 7 plot elements. It begins by introducing the plot elements, then asks students to use the elements to build on a Snapchat story. This activity has 3 parts:
• Part 1: identifying plot elements students identify plot elements & indicate where each element fits into a plot diagram.
• Part 2: building plot context students read a Snapchat story that’s missing the context & details supplied by the exposition, rising action, falling action, and denouement. Students build the story by adding the missing plot elements; in doing so, they also make the story more interesting and relevant.
• Part 3: building plot students read a Snapchat story that’s missing central information supplied by the inciting incident, climax, and resolution. Students build the story by adding the missing plot elements; in doing so, they make the story understandable and coherent.

A key is included as an example. The last page of the resource is a template of 7 blank phones for students to Snapchat a story from their life or from class readings.

NOTE: If your students don't like to draw, this activity provides a perfect opportunity for students to practice online image search skills & for teachers to heighten awareness about image usage rights. A great resource for images is pixabay.com; first off, it’s free; second, their search tool is easy & intuitive; and, best of all, the images are part of the Creative Commons CCO, which essentially means they’re in the public domain and free of copyright restrictions. A fantastic resource!
