Snapshot Inferences Lessons
The “snapshot” is a play on the ever popular, SnapChat app that our students often use everyday on their smart phones. For the lesson, the teacher will “Snapshot” random places/things around town the day before class. In class the teacher will display the “Snapshot” on the projector for 30 seconds (similar to a SnapChat image). Explain to the students how inferences connect to everything, not just what they read in their novels. The students create an inference organizer about “the Snapshot” that was displayed on the projector. From the use of the inference organizer, students will write a brief paragraph of what they can infer about “the Snapshot”.
