Do you have a student that needs help with word finding? I haven't seen many activities that target word finding, so I figured what better activity to create than a word finding game. For this activity, there are 3 different types of game cards: 1) identifying by theme (food,clothing,toys/games,school,etc.) 2) identifying action, adjective, objects by description and 3) automatic association (filling in the blanks of common phrases).
To play the game, on the student's turn, he/she will select a card and read/listen to the information. Then, they must identify the answer. If they do it correctly, they keep the card. If not, they must put the card back. (You can play with one of the decks or multiple decks.) Wild cards are included to make it a little more fun, so watch out for the girl who has been hit by a snowball, because you will lose your turn! If you draw a card with a huge snow fort, you get an extra turn.
The player with the most cards wins! Included in the download is:
* 48 Automatic Association cards
* 48 Theme Cards (including 8 toys/games, 8 home, 8 meals/food, 8 school, 8 farm, and 8 clothing)
* 48 Identify by Definition (16 object cards, 16 action cards, 16 adjective cards)
* 8 wild cards
* 8 blank cards for your own examples
Enjoy this great word finding activity for the middle of winter! Hopefully, it will warm up your classroom!
