Are you looking for a fun way to reinforce essential skills in an engaging way? This Snow Day math project covers a variety of strands and skills with fun and engaging activities!

You can print specific tasks to use during math centers/independent work time, or you can use the entire booklet and let your students work away.

Here is a list of activities and skills covered:

Activity 1: How Much Snow?

Use a ruler to measure the snowfall throughout the day.

Use a square grid to explore and create a symmetrical design

Activity #3: Shoveling Snow

Practice adding money by looking at how much children make by shoveling snow.

How many different ways can children order themselves on a toboggan? 2 options: 3 children (6 combinations) and 4 children (24 combinations)

Activity #5: Snowball Fight

It's time for a snowball fight - look at the arrays of snowballs and determine who has the most snowballs ready for the fight.

Activity #6: Hot Chocolate Math

Look at the number of marshmallows and number of mugs - figure out how to share the marshmallows equally.

Activity #7: Snow Day Activities

Use the pictograph to read and interpret information about favourite snow day activities.

Activity #8: Snuggle Up and Read

A snow day is the perfect time to snuggle up and read. Create a stem and leaf plot.

Activity #9: Mitten Mix Up

The girls have got their mittens all mixed up. Use the clues to figure out which mitten belongs to which girl.

Activity #10: Winter Patterns

Activity #11: Snow Day Math

Solve 3 digit addition and subtraction problems. If the total is 500 or greater, colour the penguin purple; if the total is less than 500, colour the penguin blue.
