Pg. 3-4 High-Frequency Word Page – “with” and “my” - illustrate it, roll the dice to see what color to write it, use it in a simple sentence.
Pg.5 Roll and Write! – roll the dice to see how many times to write the letter “Nn: on each line.
Pg. 6-8 Nest! – cut out the owl eggs – glue only the eggs with pictures that starts with the /n/ sound into the nest – enough eggs for two students on each page – cut the page on the dotted line
Pg. 9-12 Snowball Words! – copy pages A and B back to back to form a book – cut out the snowball letters and move them around to form words – record the words in your snowball book – enough snowballs for two students on each page
Pg. 13-14 Nyle Noodle – copy the “n” onto your choice of construction paper – glue various noodles onto the letter n – add wiggle eyes
Pg. 15-19 Snow! Writing and Craft Activity – Do you like snow? Copy patterns onto appropriate colored construction paper – add buttons to the snowman, add arms and smile with a crayon – add snowflakes with a white crayon – see picture
Pg. 20-25 My Snow Verbs! – a book full of winter action words- copy pages A and B back to back to form a book – cut out the little girl or boy– color the book and the character – attach a pocket to the front of the book gluing only the bottom and sides – use the little boy or girl character-to move through the book as you read it
Pg. 26-33 Snowball Fight! – a fun game that will help you practice your High Frequency words – everyone gets a game card – place the snowballs and the sun cards face down in a pile – take turns picking up a card and reading the word on the card – if you read the word correctly, you can place it on another player’s game board of your choice – You just threw a snowball at them! – if you pick up a sun card, you can take a snowball off your game card and place it back in the pile - your snowball just got melted by the sun - the winner has the least amount of snowballs on their game card at the end of the game
