A fascinating and fun 20-slide presentation on the science of snow crystals. Students learn how snow crystals are made in nature and are then shown how to make a realistic 6-point snowflake out of paper.
How do snow crystals form? What does a real snowflake look like? How can I make a realistic snowflake out of paper? Those are all questions addressed in this fun presentation. Kids of all ages will learn snow crystal facts and discover how crystals form in symmetrical patterns. They will then be guided step-by-step through making a realistic looking 6-point snowflake out of paper. These snow science activities are sure to keep kids engaged. Great for 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade.
This was a fun activity to do with the kids and I liked how it included some background about snowflakes.
I just made these with my fifth grade students and they LOVED it!! As they put it, "No more first grade snowflakes for us. We are making the real-deal with six points!" Thank you for the visuals!!
Perfect winter art project!
